How a ninth grader should use this guide

  1. Learn one CED topic at a time. Start with the plain-English explanation and master vocabulary.
  2. Retrieve before rereading. Use AP Human Geography flashcards and short questions without looking at notes.
  3. Apply the idea. Explain a map, scenario, model, or data pattern.
  4. Review mistakes. Study Buddy returns to weak topics and common misconceptions.
  5. Prove mastery over time. One correct answer is not treated as permanent mastery.

The seven AP Human Geography units

Unit 5: Agriculture

Agricultural origins, land use, production systems, food networks, and rural change.

Unit 6: Cities

Urbanization, city models, land use, infrastructure, sustainability, and inequality.

Use geographic concepts

Move beyond memorized definitions by connecting a concept to the exact scenario.
