How progress works
Practice progress, flashcard status, saved responses, and mastery evidence are stored in the browser on the device being used. That makes it possible to resume without sending a student identity to a Study Buddy account.
Aggregate site analytics
Study Buddy uses Google Analytics 4 to understand aggregate website usage, such as visits, page views, engagement, and broad feature use. Advertising personalization and Google signals are disabled in the site configuration.
Study Buddy does not intentionally send student names, email addresses, quiz answers, FRQ writing, or other typed study responses to Google Analytics. Page URLs sent to analytics are limited to the site origin and path rather than query strings or page fragments.
What students should understand
Browser-based progress can be lost if browser storage is cleared, the device is reset, or the student changes devices. A future optional recovery method, if introduced, should use an anonymous recovery code rather than requiring a real identity.
Optional feedback and problem reports
Study Buddy includes optional forms for reporting a problem and giving quick feedback. Neither form requires a student name. Quick feedback does not ask for an email address. The problem-report form offers a reply email only if the person wants a response.
When someone chooses to submit one of these forms, the answers they type and basic page context are transmitted so the feedback can be reviewed and used to improve the product. Students should not include private or identifying information in free-response fields.
