APHUG Study Buddy
Built from the classroom outward

About APHUG Study Buddy

A focused AP Human Geography learning tool built around a simple question: what would make a ninth grader more likely to understand the course, practice effectively, and keep going after getting something wrong?

Why it exists

APHUG students need more than a pile of definitions. They need a clear path from learning a concept to recognizing it in a scenario, reading geographic evidence, explaining relationships, and writing concise FRQ responses.

Study Buddy was created from classroom AP Human Geography experience, with special attention to students taking an AP course for the first time. The goal is not to make APHG easier by lowering the target. It is to make the path to the AP-level target clearer.

What teachers can expect

How quality is reviewed

Study Buddy is treated as a classroom learning product rather than a static answer bank. Questions, explanations, navigation, rubrics, and feedback flows are repeatedly tested from a student perspective. Automated checks are used to catch broken interactions and obvious scoring problems, while student-facing wording is revised when it is too vague, too dense, or too easy to misread.

The product also includes a direct problem-reporting tool and a lightweight student feedback option so confusing content can be surfaced and corrected. Automated FRQ feedback is coaching, not official College Board scoring, and the site says so directly.

What makes it different

Privacy commitments

Students are not required to provide a real name, school email, birthday, student ID, or location to use the core Study Buddy. Learning progress is stored locally in the student's browser on that device. Optional feedback and problem reports can be sent without entering a name or email.

See the student privacy page for the plain-language privacy model.

Editorial principles

Content should be accurate, readable, aligned to current course expectations, honest about the limits of automated feedback, and revised when testing exposes confusion. Study Buddy does not present its built-in feedback as official AP scoring and does not make invented claims about score gains, pass rates, popularity, or endorsements.

Independent status

APHUG Study Buddy is created independently by C&C Digital Ventures. It is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by the College Board.

For teachers, reviewers, and families: you can evaluate the live learning experience without creating a student account. A useful review is simple: choose a unit, answer several questions correctly and incorrectly, try an FRQ, inspect the explanations, and see whether a ninth grader would know what to do next.
